Living with Herpes

Living with Herpes is not a thing that you can consider to be funny or to be created into a sitcom. Instead this is a very serious matter that can make one person think about changing his lifestyle. Although no changes will have to be done in a very drastic way, but any changes that one does is really hard to do. The following list here is the following things the person infected with herpes should change to avoid more recurrence.

Stress:
Some people have observed that people who are more stressed out experience herpes recurrence more. They have based this observation because the older people gets the less herpes recurrence happens. Naturally when one becomes older, the responsibilities become fewer and the factors that involve stress such as being a new family guy are no longer present. So if you are a young stressed out person with herpes, this gives you a reason and an excuse to be chilled out all the time.

Cleanliness:
It is better to take a bath at least twice a day to have a refreshed feeling when a person is infected with herpes. This also prevents you from getting dirty very much as having dirt may cause recurrence to herpes. It is also better to wear loose shorts or pants to make your genital area feel cool. If you don’t like wearing loose clothes you have an option of always airing our genital area in fans. Also try to wear clean clothes. When using the washcloth to clean the infected area, remember to no longer use the washcloth on other parts of your body, because it may spread the infection.

Exposure:
This exposure doesn’t means you go out more and tell the public you have herpes. Although it will help if you’re sexual partner knows about your problem. In fact, it means the opposite; the person should try to avoid UV-rays because herpes will recur especially in the oral regions. If you go to tanning booths and your herpes recurs it is pretty obvious that you should lessen or avoid tanning booths. Also protect yourself with sun block.

Proper Diet:
Elevated lysine levels and decreased arginine levels have been reported by some people to lessen herpes recurrence. If you think it may help, lysine is easily available at your pharmaceuticals. The best diet to try is to slowly withdraw you from alcohol or caffeine. Researchers have said that reduction in intake of alcohol or caffeine helps a lot. Other foods that also make herpes recur are nuts, rice or chocolate. There are many more, but just to be sure, try to record things that you eat that causes you herpes.
